What we do
The Sustainability Community aims to further our understanding of sustainability issues to enable us to take action in addressing this important topic. A key question is dealing with our considerable carbon footprint in Higher and Further Education. Through identifying, developing and communicating best practice in relation to carbon emissions reduction, recycling and reuse, and similar sustainability issues we want to help fellow institutions address these prominent concerns.
Some typical topics we may debate and look to promote sustainable alternatives for are:
- Using IT to reduce institutions overall carbon footprint
- Data Centre carbon footprint reduction
- End user device recycling
- Power consumption for IT devices
- Supplier selection and management for sustainability
- Encouraging a sustainable mindset in IT
Member Teams Site
Teams Sites are to be used by members to discuss subjects of common interest. People entitled to join the Site are members of institutional member institutions only (ie not Corporate members).
