New Information Security Training for UCISA members
Paul Harness
Following input from members, UCISA’s information security training has been updated. The new materials provide a fresh new look and feel, with up-to-date content on the key risks for today. The materials may be used ‘as is’ or adapted to meet local needs. A new implementation toolkit is available on best practice. This talk will give an update on the project, demonstrate the new look and feel, and set out the release process for the next few months.

Roundtable session - Digital Strategy in a University Context
led by Andy Smith, Chief Information Officer, University College London
Digital Strategy is not an easy thing to do in a university. Join us for an interactive session to explore this topic and draw on our collective experience and war stories. Breaking into table groups, we will discuss key questions about strategy development and the role of the CIO and team. This will be brought together to create some thought leadership materials to publish to our wider community. How do you balance financial pressures and urgent needs with making strategic progress? Who do you work with to make it happen? A strategy process is a great opportunity for a CIO and their team to engage with their organisation and answer key questions about university goals and priorities. How do we do this well and come out ahead?

The session will focus on how delegates can create a winning mindset. How they can be the best version of themselves and get the best out of those around them. Delegates will be encouraged to step out of their comfort zone, be courageously brave and create change by leading from the front. They will explore what kind of leader they want to be and how others can follow. Overall, the session will leave delegates feeling energised, motivated and inspired!
