What if we stopped treating "communications" as an add-on and instead considered it as the engine of successful technology change? Drawing on our experience of co-leading York’s student mobile app (MyUoY) team, we’ll show how prioritizing clear, empathetic, and inclusive communication helped deliver a transformation of the MyUoY product and build trusted relationships across the organisation.  We’ll also show how embracing disciplinary expertise provided by different team members, as well as early and continuous collaboration between product and technical roles, underpins our success. In this session, you’ll hear the story of how we built a resilient, high-trust team culture from scratch and learn practical tips for successful comms that you can adapt to your own working practices.
