Updates from ucisa on how members are being supported and represented on the coronavirus (Covid-19) are being published as news items on the ucisa website and are also available here: www.ucisa.ac.uk/Covid19 Please share within your institution. We continue to work closely with all agencies, particularly Universities UK and with key suppliers.
ucisa community support of key infrastructure and business systems
A number of institutions have come forward indicating they would be willing to provide support or assistance (particularly around key infrastructure and business systems) to others in the event of an institution having a critical failure or system issue and key staff not being available to assist. If this is something you think would be useful and your institution would be willing to support, please could you inform Anna in the ucisa team (policy@ucisa.ac.uk) who is leading our workstream in this area.
Update from Jisc to ucisa members on coronavirus resources
Jisc have created a landing page to pull together all of its support activity in response to the current coronavirus situation including:
- The ‘Ensuring continuity of learning during enforced absence’ guide released last week which contains practical tips to maintain teaching, learning and business operations during circumstances where staff or learners are unable to physically spend time on campus. There is a related blog post on checking your tech as part of your coronavirus planning
- Jisc have launched a MS Teams-based community space for those who are responsible for ensuring strategic and operational continuity during the current situation. You can request to join from here and a free webinar is being run on Monday 16th March for Jisc members.
