UCISA PlusOne general information

With the growing challenge of talent management coinciding with a tightening of budgets in many institutions, UCISA is continuing to support its members by enabling delegates to bring along a first-time delegate from their institution.

The PlusOne Scheme has been in place for a year now and previous recipients have highlighted the benefits of attendance for their roles, their professional development, and their appreciation of engaging with the relevant community of practice at face-to-face events.

My final takeaway from the conference was the benefit of attending as a PlusOne. Attending alongside leaders from my own institution allowed me to see things from their perspective, consider the challenges they face, the UCISA networks they have built and how these networks have helped them to grow and develop personally and professionally.” UCSA23 PlusOne recipient.

The PlusOne Scheme operates by allowing full early bird fee-paying delegates to nominate a colleague who’s not attended before, to be considered for a PlusOne place. A limited number of places are available per in-person conference, and it’s intended to support colleagues who would benefit from the experience of attending but whose institution might not have the budget for them to do so otherwise. As part of UCISA’s commitment to inclusion, we welcome nominations from colleagues from under-represented backgrounds.

You can find more about individuals experiences of the PlusOne scheme on our news pages.

Details of how delegates can nominate a colleague can be found on the relevant conference event page.
