David Goddard, Head of Digital Student Experience at UCL. David has 20 years experience working in the HE sector and his goal is to improve the life and learning outcomes of all students using digital technology.

David Patterson is a Senior Account Manager at Jisc, leading a team looking after the needs of a diverse portfolio of Higher Education accounts across England. Based in Scotland, David has worked in education, sales and ICT at a national and local level for the past 23 years. David has held roles as a Mathematics and Statistics Teacher, Project Manager for Education Scotland, Key Account Manager at the Times Education Supplement, all of which have given him a wide understanding of the challenges faced by the sector.

As Senior Director, Security Strategy, Patrick is responsible for creating and evangelizing key messages about Fortinet’s cyber security solutions. Through his in-depth understanding of the complexities surrounding the subject, Patrick is able to cut through the half-truths and myths to provide clear and concise information to Fortinet’s customers and partners. Prior to joining Fortinet, he has worked for a number of small to medium size organizations as well as larger companies such as Wellfleet Communications, Bay Networks, Nortel Networks, Hughes Network Systems and Comtech Mobile Data Communications in the United States, the United Kingdom and France, holding a range of senior level international sales and marketing roles. Patrick is based at Fortinet’s EMEA office in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Paul Martin is a Public Cloud Business Development Manager for the UK&I and is responsible for heading up Fortinet’s Public Cloud go-to-market strategy in this region . Based in London, Paul has been involved with Cyber Security for over 10 years and worked for Fortinet for almost 7 years focussing on helping both Partners and End-Users adopt Fortinet’s Security Fabric.

These roles have all been public Sector focused with the last 4 years specifically HE. Committed to delivering highly secure design and implementations, to support Universities and Research to resolve business risks and minimise potential for data breaches.
