About the Event

Research and Information Technology

Research is a significant part of the service universities provide. Its nature is such that the demands on storage and processing can differ wildly. Sometimes specific ways of working are required and other times researchers have traditional ways of working that are hard to change.

This event will focus on how IT supports the needs of researchers, allowing them flexibility whilst ensuring that the university meets all of its responsibilities. It looks at successes and failures and the challenges with relationships between researchers and administrators and seeks ways of improving these. How do we become a trusted partner with researchers such that they can focus on their research and be comfortable that IT will have their backs with the computing power and data safety they need?
