About the Event

Facing the BYOD challenge

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) has grown rapidly since COVID-19 changed the way most of us are working. Whilst this has introduced real benefits related to productivity and hybrid working practices, it also presents significant challenges for universities – such as meeting the technical standards required for Cyber Essentials.

As a result, University IT teams need to find a way of leveraging available technologies whilst preventing unwanted scenarios of data theft or cyber risk caused by personal devices accessing business resources. Technical controls also need to be supplemented with an effective communication strategy and robust policy creation which present their own challenges.

Join us for a session where we will hear from a number of different universities, all at various stages of addressing the BYOD challenge. We will hear of their plans to identify and manage personal devices via Microsoft InTune and Jamf, and the associated ongoing challenges this may cause.
