UCISA is pleased to announce that it is continuing to support to its Bursary-funded Plus One scheme and therefore we are extending the Plus One scheme for SSG23, the annual support services conference. The scheme will ensure the conference is accessible to those who may not have had the opportunity to attend before.
With the growing challenge of talent management coinciding with a tightening of budgets in many institutions, UCISA is continuing to support its members by enabling delegates attending the full SSG23 conference programme to bring along a first-time delegate to SSG23 from their institution.
The UCISA Plus One Scheme will enable UCISA members currently booked to attend the conference to refer a colleague who has never previously attended a face-to-face UCISA conference, by completing this short form. A limited number of places will be available for this bursary funding, which is intended to support colleagues who will benefit from the experience of attending SSG23, but whose institution would not have the budget for them to do so. As part of UCISA’s commitment to inclusion, we welcome referrals from colleagues from under-represented backgrounds.
Before referring a colleague, please ensure that you discuss with referral with them first and make them aware that to be eligible, they will be required to share their findings from the conference with their institutional colleagues’ post-event, as well as disseminate their experience in a multimedia format of their choice that may be published on the UCISA website and/or social media channels.
Referees must have a booked their place for the full SSG23 Conference by the deadline of 9th June 2023 and, in the bursary application form, explain the reasons why their nominated colleague deserves a bursary-funded place at SSG23.
Successful applicants will need to book (and pay for) their place at the conference through their institution in the normal way. The institution may than claim a refund of the delegate fee of £450 + VAT from UCISA by completing a separate form to confirm that their delegate attended, shared their conference findings with colleagues and shared the agreed outputs with UCISA.
