The UCISA Business Relationship Management Group’s inaugural face- to-face event will take place this September at UCL’s beautiful new East Campus – come and join us in person to build networks and relationships, share your experiences of business partnering, and learn from each other.

This event will feature guest speakers and planned topics include:

  • Building a BRM function from scratch.
  • Effective partnering with the academic community and professional services.
  • Aligning IT and academic/institution strategy.
  • BRM tools and techniques.

John has worked in HE roles for over 30 years. He is a geographer by training moving in to IT team and service management as a consequence of having to learn to support himself with new technologies. He has taught on Geography Masters courses, been a School and then Faculty IT Manager and a Business Relationship Manager at Leeds. His current role as a Head of IT (Arts Humanities & Cultures, Business School, Social Sciences) is based on aligning strategies across academic and professional services. Creating and maintaining relationships is fundamental to the success of that work. Supporting people with the information, structures and help to get the right outcomes is what drives him.
