About the Event
In this webinar, you’ll hear from York St John University on how they delivered a next-generation virtual computer lab experience for students across their York and London campuses. Our innovative solution enabled one-click access to virtual desktops from Moodle, allowing students to seamlessly access their virtual environments from any device, anywhere, and at any time.
York St John University, like many in the sector, offers a diverse range of computing and cybersecurity-related modules that necessitate complex software and GPU requirements. Students also need to run Windows and Linux with admin/root access, and to create nested virtual machines and networks; whereas IT needs to maintain robust security measures.
Reflecting on NSS feedback, the need to provide a consistent experience, and to enhance access to resources for students in both York and London, York St John University partnered with Apporto to adopt a novel and innovative approach to computer lab provision for 24/25.
Learn how, despite a tight timeline of just 6 weeks to the start of teaching, the University quickly changed course from Azure Labs, and successfully navigated evolving academic requirements to deliver a next-generation virtual lab experience for students, and a new direction for the future of computer labs.
