About the Event

Sustainability – Digital technology and procurement

Sustainability is gaining ever more focus, with the recent record-breaking hot summer pushing climate change, and the effects hereof, onto headlines across much of the world. We are all getting used to sorting our household waste, driving electric cars and buying organically grown produce. The importance of being sustainable doing a weekly shopping or putting paper for recycling is acknowledged by most, even if the imperative behind this need may be less comprehended.

But how about the digital technology we surround ourselves with? Has it been procured from a sustainable partner? Can it be sustainably recycled? Am I employing it in a sustainable way?

This community event will explore sustainability from two key angles: awareness of digital sustainability, its challenges and what you can do within your work and personal life to become more sustainable, and how you can become more sustainable with your procurement, offering a way to calculate the sustainability of an item or service. We will end the day with a practical session of sharing ideas, and advice, with participants in the driving seat.

Please join us for a day of learning about, exploring and sharing sustainability issues and advice.
