Baking in the baselines and evaluating the recipe for success
Laura Hollinshead, Senior Lecturer in Education, Institution: University of Derby
Evolving from the need to provide a more consistent experience for students within the digital environment, the University of Derby developed Digital Learning Baselines, partly in response to the pandemic in 2020, these have now become established within the institution through regular mandatory training and a quality assurance and enhancement process to monitor their delivery and support academic staff to develop this practice. Recent research at the institution has sought to evaluate the impact of the ‘Digital Baseline Review’ on the development of academic practices as well as the role of the learning technologist in support this. The presentation will provide a short overview of the baking in process taken and how by evaluating the recipe (the baselines) the university is now in a position to judge their success.
