UCISA23 Leadership Plus one scheme

08 February 2023 - UCISA23 Leadership Plus one scheme

UCISA is pleased to announce that we are extending our support for Bursary-funded Plus One scheme. We are therefore delighted to share with colleagues that we now opening the Plus One scheme for UCISA 23. The scheme will ensure the conference is accessible to those who may not have had the opportunity to attend Leadership Conference before by enabling delegates attending the full UCISA23 Conference to bring along a first-time delegate from their institution.

The UCISA Plus One Scheme will enable UCISA members currently booked to attend the conference to refer a colleague who has never previously attended the UCISA Leadership conference, by completing this short form. A limited number of places will be available for this bursary funding, which is intended to support colleagues who will benefit from the experience of attending UCISA23, but whose institution would not have the budget for them to attend. To be eligible, your nominee must have taken up a leadership or management position for the first time in the past 2 years or have been promoted to a more senior leadership or management role within the last two years. As part of UCISA’s commitment to inclusion, we welcome referrals from colleagues from under-represented backgrounds.

Before referring a colleague, please ensure that you discuss with referral with them first and make them aware that to be eligible, they will be required to share their findings from the conference with their institutional colleagues after the event, as well as disseminate their experience in a format of their choice , which is publishable on the UCISA website and/or social media channels (e.g., blogs, vlogs, filmed interviews, infographics).

Referees must have booked their place for the full UCISA23 Leadership Conference by 24 February, 2023 and, in the short form, explain the reasons why their nominated colleague deserves a bursary-funded place at UCISA23. Full details on the event programme can be found on the on the event pages.

Successful bursary recipients will need to book (and pay for) their place at the conference through their institution in the normal way. The institution may than claim a refund of the delegate fee of £595+VAT from UCISA by completing a separate form to confirm that their delegate attended, shared their conference findings with colleagues and shared the agreed outputs with UCISA.
