The UCISA 2020 TEL Survey reported that since 2018, the number of staff supporting TEL had increased in 40% of institutions and this was evidenced by an overall growth in the mean FTE of staff supporting TEL across an institution. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the sector has experienced a large increase in demand for learning technologists and similar roles. This panel session considers the impact that the pandemic had on the number and type of roles providing TEL support across an institution, and how the wider organisational structures supporting TEL and working relationships with other teams have changed. It concludes by considering how panellists envisage TEL support within their institutions changing in the future.
