Delivering the benefits
Your VLE review will be expected to lead to improvements to the student learning experience whether you are looking for large-scale transformation of learning and teaching practice or simply enhancing and building on good practice already happening in your institution. You can deliver these benefits whatever the outcome of the review i.e. whether you decide to move to a different VLE or stick with your existing product.

"We realised we could get the same impact from a VLE review without changing the product through recreating curriculum content and providing training and support exactly as people do when bringing in a new VLE. You can effectively replicate the new VLE experience with an existing VLE.t!" Rob Howe, Head of Learning Technology, University of Northampton |

Many of the contributors to this Toolkit criticised a 'lift and shift' approach to managing learning content whereby existing content was automatically migrated. This applied whether they were talking about migrating to a new VLE or automatic rollover from one year to the next within the same VLE.
